Fair enough. But please do just a tad more of the old stuff. I miss it.

I've never had a bourbon. Where do I get an antique cocktail shaker? D

Why does it have to be antique?? BTW, I saw "Cabaret" per your suggestion. Fantastic!

Your bourbon sour and and your column help take the edge off of my constant stream of anxiety about Jan 20.

Celia only 3? With this administration coming in we need it by the bottle full. I think we need to take on DODGE and make Musk foot the bill for the US Debt.

Ha! Great idea. And, yeah, we are definitely gonna need to triple that recipe, aren't we?

That’s going to be a pretty heady sour Celia so you’d better be shaking things up really good to dilute the booze a bit. By the way, have you ever used frozen lemonade in place of the sweet/sour combo? We used to make daiquiris that way. They’re all variations of cocktails using sweet/sour and choice of booze to a point. Not sure how gin or vodka would work. Scotch maybe? Although Scotland would probably be beside themselves at such a proposition. As for old Mr Lector, maybe he’d get an invite to Maga-Lardo to make friends with some of Donnie’s “friends”? One could wish. Anyway, keep doing your thing. To da loo.

I made 'em last night and not too heady for me! Haven't tried the fro lemonade but sounds promising.

We, the real people, need to demand clarity on exactly how many and what type of felonies we can get away with. So far, I have no felonies, and time is running out. A precedent has been set.

hahahahaha! You sound just like our Jana. Let's start soon. You're right. We're in life's 4th quarter and time's a wastin'.

Awesome writing again. (I may try the beverage too)

I look forward to The Borowitz Report, Jeff Tiedrich, God, and your posts (and others) to lighten this dreadful time.

Thank You!

Perhaps the Donald should invite best buddy H to dinner at Mar-a-lago for an intimate dinner of liver - just not quite sure whose! And thanks for the fearless commentary!

Your not niceness is showing again. Please go back to the funny / hysterical Celia.

Not niceness? If it offends or disappoints, Robin, please do not read it. There are many, many options that you would probably like more. Be well.

But I LOVE the old Celia. The one who explained she did not have to use her turn signal because it was none of my business where you are going. The one that explained even the ugliest Chinese girls were going to the prom because they were in short supply. So many of the trueities in life that I will not know now because you have gone political. There is enough political shit to read. Please go back to the good ole days. A lot of us miss you tremendously and miss our good ole southern charmer. I know you have the right to print whatever you like. I respect you for that. But I just want you to know some of us miss the "new" old stuff. Love ya!

Robin, here at Celia Dishes there will definitely be occasional offerings about pop culture weirdness and Southern eccentricities. But, to be clear, I write what I want and need to write. That's kind of the point of Substack. To those who need a dose of humor to cope with the incoming administration, I'm here for you.

Whiskey sours are my favorite occasional cocktail, never with maple syrup. I'm anxious to test it out. Cheers! 💙

Same, especially in the winter. I love not having to make the simple syrup. It's kind of a pain when you want a quick cocktail, right? The maple syrup is easier and offers a better flavor IMHO. Enjoy!
